BlinkNote Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 25, 2026
This policy describes how the BlinkNote Quick Link Chrome extension handles data.
1. What the extension does
The extension lets you paste text and generate a shareable BlinkNote link directly from the browser popup.
2. Data processed by the extension
- Text you paste in the extension popup (only when you choose to generate a link).
- Generated BlinkNote link returned by our API.
- Local draft text saved in Chrome local storage to prevent data loss when popup closes.
3. Chrome permissions used
- storage: stores your draft locally on your device.
- clipboardWrite: copies generated links only when you click "Copy Link".
- host permission (https://blinknote.me/*): sends your request to BlinkNote API and opens BlinkNote pages you choose.
4. How data is used
- To generate your BlinkNote shareable link.
- To show the result in the extension popup.
- To keep your current draft available locally between popup sessions.
5. Data sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed only to provide BlinkNote functionality and maintain service security and reliability.
6. Remote code statement
The extension does not load or execute remote JavaScript code. It only sends HTTPS requests to BlinkNote backend endpoints and receives JSON responses.
7. Retention
- Draft text in extension storage remains on your device until you edit or clear it.
- Any created notes are retained under BlinkNote app rules (expiry, burn-after-read, and account settings).
8. Security
Communication with BlinkNote services is performed over HTTPS. While we apply reasonable safeguards, no online system is guaranteed to be 100% secure.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always published on this page.
